Review a client’s bank transactions
Select an account and period, then investigate transaction posting statuses.
Choose the account and period
Open the client and go to Bank. Select the bank account, year and month. The list shows one bank account at a time so its amounts and balances belong to the same account.
Use column filters for date, counterparty, description, amount, general ledger account or status. Check the account, period and filters when a transaction is missing.
Open the related entry
Open a linked entry from the transaction to go to its ledger details. Inspect the document and accounting treatment there. A bank payment and its invoice are different parts of the administration; VAT may be recorded on the invoice instead of the bank line.
Understand the status
- A missing general ledger account means the classification needs attention.
- A missing journal means the bank account needs an Exact journal in the integration settings.
- A failed posting needs investigation of its error and Exact settings.
- A transaction blocking the chain prevents later transactions from proceeding; inspect the reason on the row.
- Already in Exact means the transaction predates the configured resume point and is assumed to be in Exact. AirBill deliberately does not post it again.
Follow any reconnection or paused-chain message before repeatedly trying to post. Check what already exists in Exact before making manual changes.
