Resolve an entry without a document or bank transaction
Explain missing evidence to Bill when it cannot simply be matched.
Check whether evidence is really missing
Open the income or expense entry and inspect Document and Bank Transaction. Check whether the file was already uploaded or the payment still needs to synchronize. Match existing evidence before deciding to resolve without it.
No document
For a bank transaction without a document, choose Resolve without document when offered. This opens Bill with the entry and an initial message. Explain why no document exists and review the response and any proposed action.
No bank transaction
For a document without a bank transaction, choose Resolve without transaction. Read the confirmation. Bill then opens with the entry as context. Explain how it was paid, for example; do not invent a missing payment just to clear the status.
Opening Bill does not itself confirm that the entry is resolved. Return after the conversation and check the new status and any resolution reason.
Undo a resolution
Where Undo resolution is available, read and confirm the action. The transaction will need a document or another resolution again. This does not reverse a bank payment.
Incorrect details or classification
Open Bill from the entry details. The amount, date, counterparty and status are included as context. Explain what is wrong and why, such as a private payment or incorrectly recognized details. Review any proposed change and its result. Discuss uncertain accounting treatment with your accountant.
